good to know
Not a bank

Crisp is software in your browser. Nobody can reverse a payment, us included.

A wallet in your browser

Its key lives on this device only. Clearing the browser deletes it: save the key, or move bigger amounts to your own wallet.

Lost is lost

A lost photo or link can’t be recovered. Until someone opens it, you can take the money back.

Locks, plainly

An easy answer can be guessed. A date opens with drand, a public clock. One person means one Crisp wallet.

Crisp is in beta: start with small amounts. Terms and risks

good questions

Before your first $5.

which way to pick

What do they need to take it?

A phone with a browser. No app, no wallet, no seed phrase: Crisp makes a wallet in their browser.

    Is it real money?

Yes: USDC, a digital dollar, on Solana. Crisp is in beta, so start with small amounts.

    Can I take it back?

A photo or a link, yes, until someone opens it, from the browser that sent it. A send or a gift face to face is final, like cash.

What if I lose the photo or the link?

Nobody can recover it, not even us. If nobody opened it, take the money back from the browser that sent it, or set it to come back to you after 1, 7 or 30 days.

    Where is my money kept?

In a wallet Crisp makes in your browser. Only this device holds its key, so clearing the browser deletes it. Save the key from Wallet, or move bigger amounts to your own wallet. On iPhone, add Crisp to your Home Screen: Safari can clear a site’s data after 7 days away.

Does it work with no signal?

Face to face, yes. Load bills while online, then two quick scans hand them over. The gift is pending until either phone is back online, so keep those amounts small.

Can only my friend take it?

Yes, on a photo or a link: a question only they can answer, a date, or their Crisp wallet. Pick an answer nobody could guess: an easy one can be guessed.

    What does it cost?

About 0.003 SOL for a photo or a link, and most of it ends up with whoever opens it. Every way shows its fee before you pay.
